Frankfurt News

Frankfurt has a new shopping mall. Yippie. It does look quite cool from the outside - inside it's the same old made-in-China stuff that can be bought anywhere else in the world. We are told that the best way to overcome the current crisis is to consume more. I'm not buying it.

But I did see something really new: If you feel lost in the asphalt jungle you can rent a backpack with a tree inside and carry it with you while you go shopping :-)

A much better way to save the world, isn't it?

Another great post - and picture - as I love both post-modern architecture and witty performance art. Maybe you can buy (or make yourself) a tree-rucksack and bring it on your London trip? Thinking about it, surely every traveller should have one!

Great idea! I will start producing tree-rucksacks right away, take a number of them to the UK, and any I can't sell in London we can use in Bath ;-)

I just realised - I'm finally able to comment on comments. Is it a new function or was I just blind before?

Maybe a boxwood would be better than those trees--less worry about headroom. Or, for those prickly personalities, barberry. An artistic bonsai over each shoulder?

For the more dramatic people you could have something like ivy - trailing after them like a veil or train...
